Depression:-
Depression is a common mental disorder and one of the main causes of disability. It can harm brain and body. People with depression may also have multiple physical complaints with no apparent physical cause.
Depression can be long-lasting or recurrent, substantially impairing people’s ability to function at work or school and to cope with daily life. At its most severe, depression can lead to suicide. When you lose the will power to live or fight any illness or even perform your basic routine in life, it is called depression.
It is more than just sadness. In Depression, People may experience a lack of interest and pleasure in daily activities, significant weight loss or gain, insomnia or excessive sleeping, lack of energy, inability to concentrate, feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt and recurrent thoughts of death or suicide. It is a mental disorder/ mental disease.
Depression may be characterized by following symptoms :-
Sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, tiredness, and poor concentration.
It has been observed worldwide that women are more affected than men.
Stress:-
Result of forces which lead to reaction of internal particles may be called Stress. When a man is STRESSED, his,heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper.
These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed your reaction time, and enhance your focus. This is known as Stress. No doubt, Stress affect the body in many ways.
Stress is the internal resistance, or counter force, of a material to the distorting effects of an external force or load. These counter forces tend to return the atoms to their normal positions. The total resistance developed is equal to the external load is called Stresses.
Stress are of several type
but must leave on its own. There
is no stress till
you create it. You are the creator of stress. Life
is not stress at all. Our mind, our desirous mind thinks it to be so. It
makes stress, it
creates stress. Do
not create stress. Just
live.
Anxiety:-
Anxiety can simply be defined as fear of fear.It’s being afraid of an imagined future experience and thinking you can’t deal with it emotionally.
In Anxiety, you just imagine the future scenario, you already feel what you think you can’t deal with.Our brains can’t tell the difference between what is real and what we imagine. We react equally & strongly to both real and imagine.We are responding to thoughts, not reality.
This normally lasts for a short period causing no impairment in social or occupational functioning. When this anxiety is prolonged and affects social or occupational functioning, it's abnormal and accounts for anxiety "disorder.
Anxiety disorders also manifest as physical symptoms along with psychological symptoms. Some of the common things that patients experience are as follows:
- Feeling that something undesirable or harmful is about to happen (edginess and apprehension)
- Dry mouth; swallowing difficulty; hoarseness
- Rapid breathing and heartbeat, palpitations
- Twitching or trembling
- Muscle tension; headaches; backache
- Sweating
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Dizziness or faintness
- Nausea; diarrhea; weight loss
- Sleeplessness
- Irritability
- Fatigue
- Nightmares
- Memory problems
- Sexual impotence
Differences between Depression,
Stress and Anxiety
Depression:- Related to Past events - worry, hopelessness, worthlessness etc. that appears in oneself due past events happened with them. There is nothing to do, nobody treats me well, so I might / I am not worth of this, I don’t deserve good things, nothing good happens with me.
Feelings of severe despondency and dejection.Depression is hopelessness. It is similar to feeling dead. It gives you anger, despair, low energy, no enthusiasm of any kind etc.
Related to Future events - fear, worry etc. that appears in oneself due to thinking of an event that might happen in future. If I go there, if I do that, if I say that then this might happen, that might happen. worrying negatively about future.
In anxiety feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Anxiety is worry. It is panic. Every little thing might set off panic attacks etc.
Sometimes people can have two of them at the same time
Healthy ways :-
- Stop Overthinking.
- Listen to soothing music.
- Meditation: Even ten minutes of PROPER meditation will help you.
- Yoga: You don’t have to start with two hours a day. Start slowly.
- Sleep So many of us don’t get enough sleep. This also contributes to stress.
- Regular exercise.
- Take a break from your worries by doing something that you enjoy the most.
- Just ten to twenty minutes of quiet reflection may bring relief from chronic stress as well as increase your tolerance to it.
- When you share your concerns or feelings with another person, it does help relieve Stress.
- you can also take help with crystals and gemstones too .
Personal advice:-
- Early to bed and early to rise (In Brahm Muhurt i.e. one hr .forty four mints. before of Sunrise.
- Take nutritious and healthy food. Fruits must to be taken but only as per Dietitian's advice.
- Take atleast 45 minutes morning walk in fresh air.
- Meditation ofor at least half an hour both morning and evening.
- Don't live alone. Always live in happy environment
- Listening music and sharing your feelings to your own.
- Follow Psychiatrist /your doctor strictly.
